Behaviors of Friction and Wear and Finite Element Analysis of Three Ceramic Tool Materials

  • 摘要: 以添加TiC、Ti(C,N)和SiCw 3种Al2O3基陶瓷刀具材料作为研究对象,在MRH-3型高速环-块摩擦磨损试验机上研究3种陶瓷刀具材料在相同试验条件下的摩擦磨损性能,通过扫描电子显微镜对陶瓷的磨损表面进行观察,并利用ANSYS有限元软件分析计算磨损时的应力分布.结果表明,Al2O3基陶瓷刀具材料的摩擦磨损特性与其添加剂的种类有关,其抗磨性能由大到小顺序依次为Al2O3/SiCw〉Al2O3/Ti(C,N)〉Al2O3/TiC.Al2O3基陶瓷刀具的摩擦磨损性能与其硬度(H)、弹性模量(E)和断裂韧性(KIC)有关,磨损率W随E/H增加而增大,随KIC增加而减小.Al2O3/TiC陶瓷刀具材料的磨损机理以粘着磨损为主,Al2O3/Ti(C,N)和Al2O3/SiCw陶瓷刀具材料的磨损机理主要为磨粒磨损.

     

    Abstract: Three kinds of Al_2O_3-based ceramic tool materials composed of different additives suchas TiC,Ti(C,N) and SiC_w were investigated on the MRH-3 High Speed Ring-block wear tester.The stress distribution during friction and wear process was calculated by ANSYS.SEM was used to observe the ceramic surface.Different additives have a profound effect on the wear resistance of the Al_2O_3-based ceramic materials.The wear rates of the Al_2O_3-based ceramics increased with the increase of the ratio of elastic modulus and hardness,and decreased with the increase of fracture toughness.Adhesive wear was the predominant wear mechanism for Al_2O_3/TiC.While the wear mechanism of Al_2O_3/Ti(C,N) and Al_2O_3/SiC_w was abrasive wear.
