Synergistic Friction-reduction and Antiwear Behavior of Barium Oleic Acid and Titanate as Additives in Liquid Paraffin

  • 摘要: 在四球摩擦磨损机上考察了润溶性钡盐添加剂与月桂酸钛酸酯复配时的摩擦磨损性能,并对多元氧化物的表面微观物理性质及作用机理进行了讨论。研究结果表明,油溶性钡盐添加剂与月桂酸酸钛酸酯之间具有协同减摩抗磨效应,从而提高无卡咬负荷和改善抗磨性能。钢球磨损表面X射线光电子能谱分析结果表明,表面生成了Ti和Ba等的多元氧化物。

     

    Abstract: The friction reducing and antiwear behaviors of oil soluble barium oleate and an organic titanate (BLT) as additives in liquid paraffin were investigated with a four ball machine. The synergistic friction reduction and antiwear action of the two compounds as a composite additive was explored with emphasis on revealing the effect of various metal oxides formed on the lubricated steel surface. The chemical states of the typical elements including C, O, Ti, and Ba on the worn steel surface were examined by means of X ray photoelectron spectroscopy. As the results, oil soluble barium salt and BLT in liquid paraffin have obvious synergistic effect in reducing friction and wear. The oxides composed of Ti, Ba and so on contribute to alter the microphysical features of the frictional pair contact surface, thereby to reduce friction and wear.
