A Study of Methods to Eliminate the bright Zone on Bearing Ball Tracks for Main Shafts of Machine Tools

  • 摘要: 为了解决国产精密机床主轴轴承滚道表面因接触疲劳磨损而很快(运转十多分钟至两小时)就形成白亮带的问题,本文通过对滚道或滚子镀覆TiN层,MoS_2层和Ag层的真空镀层处理,以及对粗磨后的轴承套圈进行真空热处理等制成的试样,在模拟试验机上与原轴承的滚道及滚子作了对比试验研究,并就磨损表面的宏观状态和微观形貌进行了观察与分析。作者指出,TiN层由于硬度高和耐磨性好,可以防止滚道表面在运转过程小形成白壳带,但其弱点是使与之配磨的滚子磨损加剧而导致轴承的精度变差和使用寿命缩短;MoS_2层因其减摩抗磨作用良好,也能使滚道表面不形成白亮带;真空热处理可以消除粗磨造成的变质层,并能提高滚道表层的硬度和耐磨性,且其处理的工件变形比一般保护气氛下淬火的小,能够保证精加工余量和正确的几何尺寸,因而这种工艺是消除精密机床主轴轴承滚道表面白亮带的一种有效方法。

     

    Abstract: The "Bright Zone" caused by contact fatigue wear and offen revealed on bearing ball tracks of the main shafts of precision machine tools after short running (from over ten minutes to two hours) is studied experimentally by means of a simulation tester on which the original tracks and rollers are compared with tracks or rollers coated with TiN, MoS2 and Ag by PVD and tracks treated by vacuum heat treatment after grinding. The topography of wear surfaces is observed by TEM. The experimental results are analysed theoretically and discussed deeply.The following conclusions have been made by authors: a. TiN coating can prevent tracks from forming during running proc-ess, because TiN has a high hardness and an excellent wear resistance. The main drawback of this method is that the wear of uncoated rollers matched with coated tracks increases severely, thus it results in worsening of bearing accuracy and reduction of service life. Therefore, a further research should be necessary before the application of this method to industrial production. b. MoS2 coating on tracks or rollers has excellent effects of antifriction and wear resistance. "Bright Zone" is not found on MoS: coated tracks or rollers even after running under the load which is higher than that in the normal work conditions of machine tools. c. Vacuum heat treatment can remove degenerate layers caused by grinding and increase hardness and wear resistance of track surfaces.The deformation after treatment is smaller than that after quenching under conditions of co mmonprotective atmosphere. This method is able to keep machining allowances and correct dimensions, therefore it is an effective method to eliminate the "Bright Zone" on bearing ball tracks for main shafts of machine tools.
