Friction and Wear Characteristics of Al-Pb Alloy Modified by High-current Pulsed Electron Beam Processing

  • 摘要: 利用强流脉冲电子束技术对Al-Pb合金进行表面改性处理,测试改性试样表面硬度分布及其形貌和组织,采用销-盘式摩擦磨损试验机、扫描电子显微镜和X射线光电子能谱仪对改性Al-Pb合金的摩擦磨损性能及其磨损机理进行分析.结果表明:改性Al-Pb合金的组织结构得到改善,最大硬度出现在距合金表面约40 μm的亚表层;由熔化区、热影响和准静态热应力影响重叠区和过渡区组成,改性层表现出良好的耐磨性;在高载荷下改性合金表现出的低磨损率和摩擦系数与其磨损表面形成的润滑膜密切相关;随着载荷增加,其磨损机制主要表现为氧化磨损和粘着磨损.

     

    Abstract: Al-Pb alloy was modified by high current pulsed electron beam. Surface morphology and microstructure as well as hardness were analyzed. The results show that the microstructure and mechanical property were greatly improved. A pin-on-disc type wear testing machine, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscope were used to investigate the tribological properties and wear mechanism of high-current pulsed electron beam irradiated Al-Pb alloy. The modified layer which consists of a molten zone and a heat-affect and quasistatic thermal stress-affected zone exhibited good wear resistance. The low wear rate and lowest coefficient of friction at high load for irradiated Al-Pb alloy were due to the formation of a lubricious tribolayer covering almost the entire worn surface. The wear mechanism varied from oxidative wear at low load to film spalling at high load, and finally, adhesive wear.
