Lubrication Properties of 1-Hexyl-3-Methylimidazolium Tetrafluoroborate Ionic Liquids(HMIMBF4) as Castor Oil's Lubricant Additives

  • 摘要: 本文作者着眼于改善植物油的润滑性能,探索离子液体作为添加剂应用于植物油的可行性.以蓖麻油为基础油,1-己基-3-甲基咪唑四氟硼酸盐离子液体(HMIMBF4)为添加剂,配制三种不同质量百分数的混合蓖麻油,分别利用紫外可见光谱仪、流变仪、热重分析仪、四球摩擦磨损试验机、扫描电子显微镜(SEM)和X射线能谱仪(EDS)考察了其理化性能和润滑性能,探讨HMIMBF4对蓖麻油的作用机理.研究结果表明:随着温度的增加,HMIMBF4对蓖麻油的黏温特性影响越来越小,但-定程度上提高了蓖麻油的热稳定性;适量的HMIMBF4有助于提高蓖麻油的最大卡咬载荷、烧结点载荷和接触压力,但过多HMIMBF4会降低蓖麻油的抗磨损性能和承载能力.

     

    Abstract: In order to improve the lubricating properties of vegetable oil, the probability was discussed that ionic liquids used as additives in vegetable oil. The base oil and additive were castor oil and 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ionic liquids (HMIMBF4), respectively. Lubrication properties of mixed castor oils were investigated using the ultraviolet visible spectrometer, rheometer, thermo gravimetric analyzer, four-ball friction testing fig, SEM and EDS, respectively.The mechanism was explored that theHMIMBF4 played an role on the castor oil.The results showed that the impact on the viscosity-temperature property of castor oil by theHMIMBF4 grew smaller gradually with elevated temperature, and the HMIMBF4 also increased the thermal stability of the castor oil.Small amount of HMIMBF4 improved the largest seizured load, sintered point load and contact pressure of castor oil, but a more number of HMIMBF4 easily deposited on the ball surface and reduced the wear resistance and load-carried capacity of the castor oil.
